Communications

 

After thorough evaluation of a member survey administered to all UWT members in late 2007, it became apparent that United Ways of Texas needed to invest more time and resources into member communications. To address the gap in communication that many of our member United Ways felt, UWT established several ongoing communications strategies in 2008. 

 

PRINT COMMUNICATIONS

 

UWT produces a print newsletter, Texas Quarterly, during each quarter of the year. While this newsletter is targeted to meet the needs of UWT's smaller United Way organizations, it is still of great value to each member. This year, UWT released the first-edition of its Annual Report. In late August, the 2007 Annual Report was completed and distributed to members and partners. Texas United: Monthly E-Newsletter, to subscribe to UWT's monthly e-newsletter please contact Stephanie.Guidry@uwtexas.org. Monthly e-newsletters include a variety of resources from member updates to pertinent calendar, public policy and initiative information.

E-Updates are used frequently and especially during times of urgency or disaster to communicate with members in impacted areas. These updates became a lifeline for many members during the 2008 Hurricane Season, as UWT was able to send out critical information to members and their communities.
